Chad`s Chowder House in Somerset

The first time I've tried the food here, we were ordering from Doordash. I called to ask what kind of fish they use for their fish and chips. The owner came to the phone and answered my question. I was so pleased with the food. We ordered clam cakes, chowder, and fish and chips. The best seafood l have had in the Somerset area EVER!!!! Definitely a good place to eat.

My fiance and me drove to Massachusetts on Sat from Brigantine nj to pick up an atv.The person I bought it off of recommended Chad's. It was amazing!We got 2 ,1/2 gallons of the seafood bisque and clam chowder. The girl working the register was super nice and said it'll be about 20 minutes because the owner makes everything fresh. When it was ready the owner brought out with some home cooked love! She was so nice and friendly. Thank you! It was the best soup/chowder I have ever ate. 5 stars is not enough!Beautiful town and I would never drive by without stopping in for a bite if you're in the area...

The food is excellent and the staff is great.

Awesome food. A Somerset landmark. Lorelei was the best waitress. She always checked in on us. The Coconut shrimp with key lime dip was really good.

Great place, great food, friendly people. Try it you'll love it. Fried clams are excellent, Chowder, Clam cakes the best.

Lobster roll may have been small but it was very good and quite full of lobster!!

Lobster rolls were laughable how minuscule the amount of meat were for the price. Surely will only be back for the chowder which was decent

Hubby and I went for fish and chips. I ordered a small which was supposed to be 1/4 lb of fish, my husband got the large supposed 1/2 lb of fish. We were hugely disappointed as you can't find the thin fish through the batter. Won't be back again. Not worth the price.

The food is usually better. The clam cakes were disappointing. Not as good as usual. Will try again. I hade them about 6 weeks ago too and all if it was very yummy. Will see, keeping an open mind.

The seafood platter was a joke none of the seafood was fresh the scalloped were the size of a thumb nail! The fish was the thinnest fillet known to man they only gave 4 shrimp and the clam strips lets not talk about that! my order before tax was 31$ and somehow after tax it was 41$ This place is a joke and a rip off! Never again 🤬

The food is always fresh and flavorful. Service is great, as well. The seafood bisque and chourico clam cakes are my favorites. I cannot think of a better place to get real New England seafood.

Good food at a good price. It's the sort of place the locals love. Debbie is meh, but that's the the point. It's named after the owner's son Chad. Make certain to check the hours, they're end of the week and weekends only.

The waitresses were. Sweet as pie but the food was bland and sad.there was absolutely no seasoning in any of the food we got. Very disappointed with such a high rating. The food was cold in the center and hot on top.

Very pricey Great Chowder Cape Cod Classic was what my wife and I ordered clam cakes were good shrimp also good onion rings good Fried Whole Belly Clams weren't fit for any human being to even think about eating them they looked like clam strips no bellies at all hard as ROCK YOU COULD BREAK A WINDOW WITH THEM IF YOU WERE TO THROW ONE OF THEM SHARON THE OWNER OF CHADS had no sympathy what so ever she said they have been serving them like that for a month or more l am surprised they haven't been shut down for the unedible Fried Clams we were never offered any refund what server VERY POOR WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS WE WILL NEVER RETURN THERE AGAIN I FEEL SORRY FOR ANYONE WHO ORDERS FRIED ROCKS OH I MEANT CLAMS THERE Have A Nice Day Thank You

My nieces and I decided to try someplace new. When they heard "Chad's Chowder House," they thought the restaurant would be snooty, when they saw the store front, they didn't know what to expect! What we received was delicious food, friendly service, and good prices for what we received!When the server found out I had a good allergy, the owner came out and helped me find items I could eat. She was considerate, patient, and extremely helpful. Don't miss this delicious stop!

This place has won awards for a reason. Their seafood is incredible! One of my favorite places for real New England seafood.

A little place, hard to see from the road. But when you taste the food, it's easy to see why they have received so many awards, over the last 20+ years, for their New England Clam Chowder and Seafood Bisque! If you're in the area and like seafood, this is the place to go to. Very reasonable prices too.

In my opinion it's the best seafood take out spot in the local area they do also offer a small eat in area. Hands down my go to spot for clam cakes. I have been going here as long as I can remember, something over 15 years an it has always been consistently great food an a great staff. If you havent tried this place put it too the top of your list on your next seafood binge!

Good typical new england fishand chips

Chowder here is excellent! (Both the clam chowder and seafood bisque) the clam cakes are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, loaded with clams and NOT the least bit greasy!!!!

This place is fantastic! Reasonable rates, considerable dishes and the staff members are consistently very welcoming.

Fish was over fried hardly any fish. However Quahog was delicious
